Aftercare and client support from PATH National
PATH National Aftercare
The Graduate Forum was created to provide aftercare support to graduate MDP students and trainees. It allows members to develop the skills of coaching and mentoring. Members also have the opportunity to offer support to students and trainees who are working through their courses and traineeships.
An aspect of the Forum's activities is to provide a mentors' network. It enables current trainees and MDP students to liase with past members in a mentoring partnership. It can also serve as an employment advice platform.
During the PATH traineeship your Personal Advisor (PA) would have coached and mentored you to facilitate development. PAs are members of the Client Support Team - CST which has a Senior Personal Advisor (SPA as manager) and an administrator.
For the Management Development Programme (MDP) students the course leader would have fulfilled this role. It is this support which enables trainees and students to balance the many demands they face in their roles as work-placement trainees, employees, university/college students, family members and productive members of society. Up to six months after leaving PATH you can book and attend any of our personal development courses.
The Role of the Client Support Team
The role of the client support team is to foster and develop to support the placement providers, supervisors and the trainees in delivering the objectives of the traineeship.
All administrative enquiries regarding the traineeship are dealt with by the Client Support Team Administrator who is the first point of contact for both supervisors and trainees when contacting PATH.
Personal Advisors
Each trainee is allocated a Personal Advisor, whose role is to ensure that trainees are provided with a structured programme of support, guidance and development to gain the maximum benefit from their traineeship.
Personal Advisors will conduct review meetings with the trainees and supervisors every ten to twelve weeks. The review meetings are an opportunity for the trainees and supervisors to discuss their progress on the traineeship and raise any issues that may arise.
Senior Personal Advisor
The Senior Personal Advisor (SPA) oversees the work of the Personal Advisors and manages the function of the Client Support Team in supporting trainees and MDP students.
